This project consists of your full name animating typography with an emphasis on creativity and clarity of communication. It is an opportunity to explore the various ways of moving images in After Effects. Through this project, you will explore how the moving images on the screen change and evolve with graphic composition. The overall length will range from 5 to 10 seconds

I knew from the beginning that I wanted my name to be written in to make it feel handwritten. I wanted to also start with a plain background so that when the first name is introduced that’s the main focus point.
I purposefully wanted the dot of the i to not be scripted in so it could fall down and make the stem of the “i” bounce as it lands on it. I wanted it to be interesting and create that funky and bouncy vibe. This helps lead into the next frame where the last name appears and bounces the name. By adding the dot bouncing on the stem of the “i” helped make it feel cohesive.
As the last name pops it in return make the “emily” pop up as well which sends the dot of the “i” up as well. It rolls back and forth on the base of the “i”. I did this on purpose because it felt like the animation was trying to wrap up while still keeping the fun vibe to it.
To start the process of looping I had the dot of the “i” jump up and bounce off the “y” while increasing in scale so it could roll across screen and reset the screen. I also wanted a fun way to make the darker bottom blue color disappear which is why it rotates out of frame to make way for the loop to start.
